A Priceless Moment: Spending Family Time With a Fun Camping Game

Going out camping or having a picnic is a great way to bond with family. Instead of going to fancy restaurants or unhealthy fast food chains, it’s better to drive that big truck and go somewhere where you can enjoy the beauty of nature while spending quality time with your family. To make it more interesting, you can play some camping or picnic games that your kids will surely enjoy!

You can adopt a common camping kit, or you can think of something unique and out-of-the-box; It doesn’t really matter as long as everyone in the family is having a good time.

Cornhole is a fun picnic game that involves 2 platforms with a hole each and bean bags. You can form two teams of two, or you can have a one on one battle. The platforms will be placed distant from each other (more like 20 to 25 feet). The players will stand right next to the platform (pitching box) where they will throw their bean bag (4 for each team). The goal is to shoot the bean bag into the hole in the platform (worth 3 points) or at least place it on the platform (worth 1 point). After throwing all the bags, count the points for each team. The difference between the scores of the winning team and the losing team for that round will be added to the winning team’s score. The winning team will also pitch first for the next round. The first to get the score of 21 will win the game.

Aside from cornhole, there are also other camp games for kids that are much simpler. The alphabet game is fun and energizing. It will ask the children to find an object along the way that begins with each letter of the English alphabet. Another game that involves the alphabet is Noah’s Ark, in which each member of the family will name an animal that they will take to Noah’s Ark, and it must be in alphabetical order. If you made a mistake or couldn’t name an animal, you will be out of the circle. The last player in the circle wins. Scavenger Hunt is another fun game; all you need is a list of things you can find along the way (a feather, a pineapple, a white pebble). Each of you will just have to find everything on the list.

You can also play classic games like tag and hide and seek. There are also lots of bonding activities you can do like making a fort, building a sand castle (if you’re at the beach), singing campfire songs (around the campfire, you can also sing folk songs), and telling stories.
