What’s so good about pink Himalayan salt?

What made me decide to buy a Himalayan salt lamp?

In recent years, probably since I turned 34/35, I started paying attention to social media posts about natural remedies and the like. I had never seen Himalayan salt lamps before (although I was using pink salt for cooking) and found them impressive as well as unique, even quirky, but I was also very interested in the health benefits side of using a salt lamp. of the Himalayas in your home. (Living room and bedroom in my house)

…And so I first bought a great Himalayan salt lamp for the living room and besides its stunning and unique look plus a talking feature because everyone who has visited since the time I bought the salt lamp , they always notice and they like it a lot

That’s even when it’s not on! The actual health/benefits a salt lamp is known to offer; it is good for our home; is that it reduces the amount of dust, so that’s a plus for anyone assigned the housework of dusting!

But not only that, the side effect is that the salt lamps could; I say ‘might’ only because no real scientific studies have been done. However, many believe, as do I, that this wonderful piece of the Himalayas effectively ‘cleans the air’ of what is called ‘electromagnetic radiation’, as well as reducing dust particles and any other imperceptible ‘bits’. of whatever is floating in the air, which is NOT good for us or our airways.

Therefore, if you suffer from asthma or any other ailment that is affecting your breathing, then I absolutely INVITE you; (Sorry I just have to use capital letters for urgency…I am so passionate about this wonderful natural product)…so I truly recommend salt lamps to anyone and everyone I know and somehow I find out! I’m having a relevant topic of conversation! I also always recommend using pink Himalayan salt instead of table salt… (Although most of my friends/associates are pretty well informed on this already!).

Himalayan pink salt for cooking and serving?

Another advantage of HS is when it comes in the form of blocks. Square, round, etc., and can be heated to high temperatures and kept in the freezer to serve something cold like a salad.

Scooping out a block of natural pink Himalayan salt, which is piping hot, and presenting it at the dinner table with friends will definitely be a conversation piece. Then they can all sit together to talk, while they cook their pieces of meat or fish, for example… How cool is that?

Himalayan pink salt to use as a facial scrub?

Just in the last few weeks I decided to do my own experiment using Himalayan pink salt to exfoliate the skin on my face, instead of the usual store-bought stuff.

Obviously no results yet, although it always feels fantastically soft and lovely after I’ve massaged it into my skin. I take a small tub and do a gentle circular massage around my face 3 x week, while bathing and using rapeseed carrier oil, as well as a couple of drops of essential oil (100% pure only).

I am making an educated guess or assumption, that just because Himalayan salt contains up to 84 trace minerals, exactly what our bodies require, then surely it can only be beneficial for use on the skin.

There are other talking points about Himalayan salt, but I think that’s for another day. So what’s so great about Himalayan pink salt lamps? I would say that a lot. Salt lamps don’t just look good! Salt lamps make a great gift idea for that friend or family member who suffers with their breath and then sleeping is another health benefit salt lamps are said to provide.

There’s so much more I’d love to ‘discuss’ about this magical natural product of Mother Earth, so I’ll wrap it up now and save the rest for another day of articles!

To your health, Claire
