Importance of CTR in the execution of successful digital marketing campaigns

Digital marketing is a method that comes with measurable results. All kinds of statistics are available related to the campaigns. Each type of method comes with relevant numbers that help to better understand the campaign.

With methods like including pay-per-click advertising, email marketing, and social media, one can understand the results. The most important metric to understand would be the click through rate (CTR). This indicates how many people are interested in the products when they click on the ad to get the information. Here, understanding CTR and the steps to take to achieve it becomes important.

CTR and its importance in the execution of a campaign:

First, CTR is simply the number of clicks received per number of impressions. These can be tailored to PPC ads, social media ads, and emails according to the type of campaign one decides to undertake.

The two methods that measure CTR are PPC ads and social media ads. When one runs an advertising campaign with the methods, the ads appear in front of the people in the target market. Consequently, the viewers who see the ad make up for the impressions. These are people who are seeing the ad but not acting on it. Now, the members of your target market who click on your ads make up the number of clicks.

Commonly, two types of ads can be found with these methods. The type of method you use affects your CTR.

Search Ads:

Search ads are usually for PPC campaigns. Ads that appear at the top of search results. These ads sit above the organic listing and are tagged under the word “ad.”

Show ads:

Visual ads that appear on sites other than the advertiser’s site or during social media feeds. These ads are in accordance with the searches made by viewers in recent times. Most pay-per-click management companies use this method to create compelling ads to persuade viewers to click on them. However, these ads do not have as high a CTR as search ads, since they are the ones that viewers can avoid. But, that does not mean that these are not useful. Retargeted ads have a CTR since the products are the ones that viewers are interested in buying. CTR can be increased through display ads to get them back in front of potential customers.

Now that different methods have been understood, there is no fixed number that determines a great CTR. A higher CTR just means more clicks for the business and the ability to reach more potential customers. Therefore, it would be ideal to maintain a CTR equal to or slightly above the industry average.

Some tips to improve CTR:

With all this understanding, implementing the same should be easier. When running marketing campaigns, one wants to maximize the potential for gaining new leads and conversions. Some of the tips that include

-a thorough keyword research,

-experiment with different types of ads and

-refine the parameters reaching the right audience.

Finally, improving CTR could definitely be challenging, but not when you know where to start with relevant ads that resonate with the right audience.
