It all started with the twin brothers Nicolas and Philippe Ledegen. (July 02, 1965) As children they surprised their family with their creative inventions, drawings and designs. Their distinctive early feeling for colors and color mixing was remarkable and it was to be expected that they would build their lives around arts and crafts.
After finishing the traditional school programme, they contacted Ms. Schwennicke from the Delveaux company via via, immediately giving them the opportunity to follow a three-year training program at a specialized school to train as a leather craftsman). They started this formation in 1983, with a lot of courage, but also with a lot of fear, due to the strict discipline. Of the 30 fellows who had started the training, only 5
to succeed.
The two Ledegen brothers also participated in international competitions for young designers, such as the prestigious Foire de la Maroquinerie (Leather Trade Fair), supported by the world-famous Hermes. There they received second and third place for ‘Jeunes Créateur de l’Europe’ (Young Designers of Europe) with the best designed ‘bag of the year 2000’.
Entrepreneurship was something they had in them since childhood, so when they bought a small but adequate house in the city center of Dendermonde, Belgium, the real work could begin.
In 1999 the business in Dendermonde was opened, and in 2002 the first steps were taken in Japan where
‘Japan Twins’ is founded.

In fact, the skins used are produced by the best leather goods manufacturers in Europe. At Twins they only use select cowhide, and only the best pieces are used. This selection requires a lot of knowledge and attention.

The production of each Jumeaux leather bag is carried out entirely according to the craftsmanship:

*dividing the leather according to the required thickness
*burning of the edges and finishing with special ink
* the assembly of the different pieces

*and last but not least, quality control and custom initialing
