Should the Olympics go ahead?

The athletes train to the maximum and the emotion of the Olympic Games is such that to suspend them would be catastrophic in their eyes. There is also a huge investment of money, time, organization and a country’s resources involved in it. Weigh that, however, against the threat to the world’s health, and where are we? Confusion and a dogmatic committee sitting to oversee the Games compete with common sense and the risk posed by the Zika virus.

While the virus was limited to the South American countries of Brazil, Venezuela and elsewhere, the question is whether the OGC knew about the virus before awarding the games to that region. There is a possibility that there was a major fraud and conspiracy by the Brazilian government that may have withheld information in order to obtain the contract.

If the latter is the case, what are the legal responsibilities you face if the Olympics are decided? If it is decided that you must accept responsibility and pay compensation to move the games to another location? On the other hand, what can people do to file a claim if they go to the games and get the disease?

Surely these things need to be put on the table before someone travels there and goes back to their own countries to further spread the disease. Although many have already done so as officials, organizers, suppliers and even athletes, they have already been and are now carriers, the virus is appearing in countries such as China and Australia, among others.

Canceling the Games would seem like the most sensible solution, but the likelihood of that happening is far from comment. There is no precedent in history, except for the Second World War, in which the Games were not held for a few years. Without a doubt, the threat posed by this virus is akin to a war of immense proportions and justifies someone calling it off.

Does the health of the world matter so little when compared to the money invested that no one has the courage to say no?

My reincarnation and the knowledge that we are in the last days is one reason to speak out. However, it is impossible to change the events that are part of the trap to trigger it. It is my opinion that the Zika virus, along with other things, will do just that. We cannot stop the inevitable.
