Surviving the football offseason

As a die-hard football fan, the summer months are some of the longest and most boring months of the year as I count down the days until the first NFL and NCAA weekends. Just thinking about all the outfield hits, deep passes and countless celebrations in the end zone has me giddy with excitement. In this article, I hope to share some of my secrets on how to cope with the absence of football in your life and help the summer months go by a little faster so that we can get back to following closely and painting our faces.

One way to keep up with my football news is to follow various online football blogs that cover my favorite teams and tackle all the NFL football rumors and news. This also offers a great way to interact with other football fans and helps me talk and think about football again. Along with online football blogs, watch TV shows like ESPN’s NFL Live for up-to-date NFL news and rumors.

Another way to satisfy my soccer cravings during the off-season is to go to video websites like YouTube or Google Video and search for highlights from previous soccer games. This is a great way to get nostalgic for the triumphs of the previous season or open up some painful wounds by reliving past heartbreaking defeats. Either way, this is another good way to get your football fix.

One final way to survive the football offseason is to buy preseason magazines. These regulars cover all the off-season moves your favorite teams have made and help narrow down the amount of time actually spent on the offseason. These are a great source for NFL football news and rumors and offer a great way to catch up on all the NFL stories in the off-season. Since these posts come out in mid-summer, they greatly reduce the time we have to wait before relevant football news is reported in depth.

I hope these tricks help ease the pain of not having football in your life during the sweltering summer months. Here’s to Labor Day to get there as quickly as possible!
