Toyota Vios and TRD Sportivo

The new Toyota Vios has been radically changed and there is a choice of a stylish brand or sporty type. Now in its third generation, the Toyota Vios is proving more than ever to be an economical yet luxurious and spacious vehicle.

Toyota has put no-nonsense design to work by taking the original design of the 2007 Vios and adding sophisticated enhancements to complement its contoured shape. The 2010 Vios features a new grille: the grille bars curve gently downward in the direction of the midpoint, giving the grille a slight “V” appearance and giving the vehicle a complete sporty appearance. The taillights for this 2010 model are also different, curving outward and featuring an even more dimensional design at the rear. The electrically folding side mirrors are also an improvement over the Vios.

Toyota Malaysia has introduced the 1.5 TRD Sportivo, 1.5G, 1.5E and 1.5J variants for this country. Toyota has added upgraded features that are unique to each variant: exquisite chrome interior trim and matching leather seats are specific luxury trims offered on some of the variants. The 1.5 TRD Sportivo is the sassy and sporty version of the lot, coming with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 15-inch 7-spoke alloy wheels and a 5-piece Aerokit, enhancing the Toyota Vios’ aerodynamic and sporty appearance.

The Toyota Vios has been sensibly designed so that the shape of the car’s body makes parking in compact spaces extremely simple. The Vios also has a minimum turning radius of 4.9 metres, making it easy to pull off sharp or U-turns.

The VVT-i engine is Toyota’s signature technological innovation and is the key element of the Vios’ extraordinary performance: the engine is distinctively designed to automatically regulate valve timing to generate ultra-powerful acceleration. The VVT-i engine has also been meticulously engineered to reduce fuel consumption and produce much cleaner emissions.

The 1.5 TRD Sportivo, 1.5G and 1.5E models are automatic transmission, while the 1.5J has the automatic transmission variant and the manual transmission variant. On automatic transmission versions, Super Electronic Controlled Transmission technology offers smoother gear changes and is designed to select the optimum gear for comfortable driving.

The interior of the new Toyota Vios is large, with comfortable and luxurious seats for both front and rear passengers. There’s also plenty of legroom, particularly for rear passengers, making the Vios suitable for easily carrying three adult passengers in the rear. Boot space is plentiful and can be further expanded, when required, by folding the rear seats flat.

Whether you’re interested in the Vios as a car for yourself or your family, Toyota has equipped the Toyota Vios with additional safety features, giving you ultimate peace of mind. The vehicle body shell has been developed and tested to distribute impact energy throughout the motor vehicle shell, thereby reducing impact in one region and reducing the likelihood of harm to vehicle occupants. Another safety system is the Brake Assist technology: the vehicle intelligently activates when the driver is executing an emergency brake and provides additional braking force.
