Luxury Resorts and Something Different in Whistler

Whistler is a glamorous ski destination. Not only are there two mountains easily accessible from the city center, there is also one of the best ski scenes in the world that will have you wondering why you still have your ski boots on when the bars close at 2am.

Whistler Mountain Facts

Located 2.5 hours from Vancouver Whistler Airport in one of North America’s premier resorts. Whistler Blackomb receives an average of 10 meters of snow per year. It has a drop of 1,530 meters and the longest route is 11 kilometers.

Pan Pacific Mountain Side

Located just steps from the 2 gondolas to Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain and right in the heart of the city, you couldn’t get a more central location in Whistler.

There is a heated outdoor pool and 2 hot tubs, all with views of the mountains. There is also a eucalyptus steam room and a spa treatment center with a standby massage therapist to soothe sore muscles. You can even ask the masseuse to come to your room.

One and two bedroom suites are available. All have views of the valley and mountains. The rooms have everything you could need, including full kitchens with granite countertops, gas fireplaces, spacious living areas with balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows, bathrooms with soaking tubs, and luxurious bedding.

The hilton

The Hilton is located a stone’s throw from the Whistler and Blackcomb Gondolas, in the heart of Whistler Village.

They have a casual, relaxed bar that is popular with the locals called Cinnamon Bar. With great cocktails and snacks, it’s a great little bar to chill out after you’ve been skiing all day.

After you have relaxed in the bar, you may want to enjoy a good meal in a small elegant restaurant. The Cinnamon Bar Grille also has a relaxed atmosphere with beautiful homemade pizzas and some of the best steaks you will ever have.

When it is time to retire, the luxurious room will not disappoint. All rooms are spacious and richly decorated. Amenities include high-speed Internet access, luxurious bath and body products, MP3 alarm clock radios, specialty individual coffeemakers, and 37 “flat-screen televisions. Each room has a full kitchen.

Four Seasons

With 5-star services and one of the best restaurants in Whistler, it’s hard to look beyond the 4 seasons. Located in the upper village near the Wizard chair in Blackcomb, it is not as close to town as the Pan Pacific, but this shouldn’t be a problem. They provide transfers to the ski hill in the morning and the village is only a 10 minute walk away, plus there are free taxis and shuttle buses.

Panoramic views of the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains can be enjoyed from the 23-meter heated outdoor pool. There are also three hot spring-style outdoor hot tubs.

The Fifty Two 80 restaurant located inside the Four Seasons (they really like their number) is really spectacular. This fine-dining restaurant using local British Columbia produce is a must even if you are staying elsewhere. The seafood buffet on Wednesdays is delicious!

The rooms are truly luxurious with cozy wooden interiors and gas fireplaces. All accommodations offer magnificent views of the mountains, forest, valley, pool or patio from private or exit balconies.

Bars, clubs and shopping

There are hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars in the pedestrianized town of Whistler. Your best bet is to spend a day wandering around the town of Whistler, as there is always something to see.

If you want to experience Whistler’s famous patio scene, the GLC (Garibaldi Lift Company) and the Longhorn Bar are two great options, both located just steps from Whistler and the Black Comb Gondola. Both bars have a great selection of drinks and food.

If you’ve quenched your thirst and drunk beer and nachos, but now your feet are starting to itch, it’s time to head to one of Whistler’s famous nightclubs.

Tommy Africas has some fun theme nights. 80’s Monday is always a big night with crazy costumes, Burton gifts, and the cheesiest 80s dance moves you can muster.
